> According to current exceptional economic situation I decided to focus on the idea of money and its major reference which is gold (Au). After cursory research I realized that history and features of this element are staying in close relation with economic mechanisms as well as with human behaviors in general. This encouraged me to learn basics about the reactions of components of this element with photons: the way it absorbs and emits electromagnetic waves, physical actions which cause changes of its color etc. Questions which appeared during the research were a major contributory factor to start painting. Finally the cycle consists of three works:

Au: two sides (gouache on paper, 40x50cm, 2012)

Commentary:
Light which goes through the thin golden leaf changes its color. What kind of impression brings this second color? Can we call it the hidden side of this element? If yes; what new contexts it brings and how can it alter our perception of gold?

Lucas Dybalski, "Gold"

Au: formation (gouache on paper, 40x50cm, 2012)

Au: relativistic effects (gouache on canvas, 40x50cm, 2013)
